Death's head moth necklace, Steampunk assemblage, wood lasercut Hawk moth, bronze tone, orange dragon eye, cultured sea glass, Victorian

$55.00

If you're looking for something totally unique, Victorian, Goth, quirky, and one of a kind, this gorgeous Lasercut Death's head moth necklace in bronze-toned metal is perfect for you.

The focal piece is a laser-cut wood cutout of a Death's Head Moth.

You may recognize the moth from the movie Silence of the Lambs.
There is an actual moth called the Death's Head. It's a type of Hawk moth and gets its name from the pattern on its head, which resembles a skull.
More info on this fascinating moth to be added.

The laser-cut moth was made by affixing a photo or picture of the moth to thin plywood and then cutting it out with a laser cutter.
Note. I do not make the laser cut. I just assemble the jewelry.

On the back at the top, I have added a diamond-shaped bronze-toned filigree stamping and two filigree connectors.

On the front, where the body of the moth should be, I added another bronze toned filigree connector. In the center is a 25 x 18mm orange and green glass dragon eye cabochon.

On the outstretched wings of the moth, on either side, attached to the filigree connectors are two ornate chandelier earring connectors.
Above each of those is an eye pin with three cultured recycled frosted sea glass beads. There is a pale yellow 6mm bead, an 8mm darker yellow gold bead, an 8mm smoky frosted gray-black bead.
The chain is attached to these beaded eye pins.

I finished the necklace with a large oval link copper-toned chain and a lobster claw clasp.
All the pieces are connected with sturdy jump rings. The parts are assembled in layers using a strong adhesive.

The chain and findings are silver-toned metal plated metal alloy.

Since this cutout is paper on wood, I would suggest not getting it wet.

The back of the necklace is painted black. The adhesive is clear but slightly visible.

This necklace is 20 inches long but I will be glad to lengthen or shorten it for you.
